All new players start as NR (Not Ranked) and progress through a scale ranging from 2.000 to 8.000. Once your first match is entered you will then have the ability to self rank. For more details on the progression of ranking, check out our Ranking page.
An AMR Match has 4 players and 4 hands. Scores are based on the winning line's value, following NMJL Rules. Learn more on our Match page.

AMR has three Match types: Casual, NMJL Rule Play (Casual Setting), NMJL Rule Play (Facility), and NMJL Rule Play (Tournament). Visit our Match page to learn more details of each type of match.
As an AMR ranked player, you can register for open play and events directly on the app and play against Mahjong players at your level. AMR syncs with 70+ clubs and events around the country.
The Chinese Star Anise next to a player's name means they've been ranked by an AMR Master or played in an AMR Master club. Find AMR Masters in your area!

We use a modified Elo system. It considers opponent strength, victory/defeat margin, and tournament size/prestige. Details HERE.
Join an AMR Club to easily add matches to your score. Clubs enter scores for you. Follow members and see events. Find Clubs HERE.
You can organize an AMR club for free. To start a club, you will need to complete an AMR Club Application, which requires basic information such as your name, AMR ID, email, phone, club name, member count, and a CSV upload of your member list. You also specify your club type (e.g., "I have my own venue," "I rent spaces," "I go to individual homes") and provide your address.
