Welcome to the American Mahjong Ranking Authority ("AMR Authority," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile application, ranking platform, and all related services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing, registering for, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you are prohibited from using the Services.
Understanding Mahjong Terms & Conditions
1) Definitions

"User," "You," "Your" refers to any individual or entity accessing or using the Services.

"Player" refers to a User who has registered for a player account.

"Content" includes all information, data, text, software, graphics, and other materials displayed on or provided through the Services.

"User Content" refers to Content submitted, posted, or uploaded by a User.
2) User Accounts

Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to register for an account. If you are under 18, you represent you have your parent’s or guardian’s permission to use the Services.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it promptly if it changes.
3) User Conduct and Responsibilities
You agree not to use the Services to:

Violate any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.

Engage in any fraudulent or dishonest activity intended to manipulate the ranking system ("sandbagging").

Harass, abuse, intimidate, or harm another User.

Infringe upon any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights.

Transmit any spam, malware, or viruses.

Impersonate the AMR Authority, an employee, another user, or any other person or entity.

Use any automated system, such as "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," to access the Services in a manner that sends more request messages to our servers than a human can reasonably produce.
4) Intellectual Property Rights

Our Content: The Services and their original content (excluding User Content), features, functionality, and ranking algorithms are and will remain the exclusive property of the AMR Authority and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without prior written permission.

Your Content: By submitting, posting, or displaying User Content on or through the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content for the sole purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Services (e.g., displaying your name and tournament results on the public ranking leaderboard).

Tournament Results: You acknowledge and agree that all tournament results submitted to the AMR Authority become part of the official historical record. These results are integral to the Services and will not be removed upon account deletion, though they may be anonymized.
5) Fees and Payment

Certain Services may require payment of fees (e.g., membership dues, tournament entry). You agree to pay all applicable fees as described and in accordance with our separate Refund Policy.

All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in the Refund Policy.
6) Disclaimer of Warranties
YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. THE AMR AUTHORITY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
7) Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AMR AUTHORITY, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES;

ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICES;

UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.
8) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the AMR Authority and its licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Services.
9) Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
10) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall be resolved through final and binding arbitration, rather than in court.
11) Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the new Terms on this site with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after any change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
